No doubt I'm going to tear it down. I have it parked and its ready to pull. My damn family keep having me work on there cars so I haven't had a chance to start. I used plastigauge when I built the short block . Never again. I have a bore gauge and micrometer ordered. Should be a fun build and will make a whole lot more power than it did before. Thanks boys!

Place the filter material in the vise in its accordion position (if that makes sense) and use the vise to squeeze the oil out of the material. No matter in your case though....

Oh I see what you mean. And that makes it easier to see what is stuck in the filter?

Give it a shot

Plastigage is good enough as long as you have a good machine shop do your machining.

Notice how loose the bearing is in the first cap. What causes that?

It got too hot, it lost some material, it was about to spin.

What do the mains look like?

I only pulled one main. I figured the sound was either coming from main 4/5, or the 7/8 rod journal so I pulled those two rod caps and main #4. How does this main look?
