haha well like I said, goin in practically blind I did fine up untill I gave that a good look over and tried to apply it. Losing a valve lock or having a spring launch really wasnt something I planned for so I decided not taking the chance and not having to explain to my dad y I was so impatient and went on without it and fucked it up wasnt really my cup of tea, specially with the shape they're in.
by the way, does anyone know if I can use my flat top springs with the same retainer that is on my factory springs? they looked kinda beehived to me??

tim's tool works great, just follow directions included with it. you will need retainers to go with your valve springs, stock will work with beehive only. you made need seals to go with your springs to.

well the LS1 how to says that since my motor is an 01 and later that the seal is a separate piece and only needs to be removed if I replace the seat? can I only replace the retainer since the seat is on the bottom and the factory spring is flat on the bottom?

sweet, thanks man. Ill get her done yet, hopefully the weekend after Ill get some time at my buddy's shop so I've got some air and that will make thinks like the harmonic balancer easier. BTW, the 2 bolts underneath for the crankcase/timing cover, how the hell do u get those out??? those were tight as hell when I tried
