Just found out today that I have two bad head gaskets after pressure testing the cooling system. I was quoted roughly 1700 to repair, does this seem fair? Parts were 440. I was wondering if it would be better to swap or to do some upgrades while replacing the gaskets? Any input is appreciated. Thanks

After checking out GMPartsdirect, it appears the gasket itself is only about $31 a piece. Does this sound right?

 

How much would I be looking if I wanted to do a 6.0 swap?

 

Gaskets are $33 a piece, head bolts are $20, coolant and oil are less than $50.

 

There are people on this board that will do that job for you for about $300 plus parts.

im sure someone local will get on here sometime soon and help you out it's not that difficult if you are a little mechanically inclined.
