ARP rod bolt question?

It's my understanding that snapping the rod bolt is not the problem but that at higher rpms the bolts tend to stretch and that's the problem with the stock bolts.

how could they strengthen...that doesnt seem physically possible...maybe they stretch because the constant change of directionand that stresses them which causes them o break but if they did strengthen how would that hurt things?

The standard bolts are torque to yield and will strech in high reving engines, not really an issue if you staying well below 6500.

The Cam size you would need to put your revs in the danger zone would be getting pretty big for a heavy truck, with out alot of mods.

if i was to buy a 226/226 .575 114 cam, witrh the 5.3 what rpm should i set my shift point at. i dont want to replace rod bolts and i dont want to NEED a LS6 intake to make the cam ideal so im wondering if ill be spinngin in excess of 6400 or 6500. else ill step down to the 224 sorry for tghe off topic
