You guys like these vids, right? Haha

Going to pick up a GM oil pump pickup tube o-ring. See if it makes a difference over the Fel-Pro I'm running.

Is your oil pan aligned correctly? I had a very similar issue and it turned out the oil pan was contacting the flexplate. There's some play in how the oil pan can be bolted back on so make sure it doesn't extend beyond the plane of the engine block at the back.

That kinda sounds like a rod knock to me man. A rod knock will sometimes knock at twice the engine rpm because it knocks as the crank is moving that cylinder up and then down. is it isolated to one bank/cylinder or is it on multiple cylinders?

Well, I'm officially giving up on this thing. Picked up an 80k mile 5.3 to replace it. Once I get the van back on the road, I'll tear down the 6.0 and see if I can figure out what was causing the noise.

Turns out the problem was too much piston to wall clearance. I measured it and got .004-.005", which is too much. The cylinders have some minor vertical wear marks, but nothing too bad.
