Almost sounds like my motor with 258k on it lol, though my lifters arent that loud yet.

Quiet at idle but sound clatter around 2k rpms and clears up after 3k or it's the motor noise drowning out the sound lol.

Could a dead coil pack or fuel injector make it sound that way?

If it was a coil that was dead, it would have a hard missfire and shake the motor way more. Injector tick doesnt really have a metallic type noise to it, atleast to me anyway.

Just an idea......Is there maybe a heat shield plate or transmission line bumping/rubbing something? Most likely not due to the tap moves with the rpms.

Higher lift cams often have a sewing machine sound to the valve train. Pushrod that are too short can cause excessive noise. Of course bad (worn) lifters or rockers can cause noise also. I've heard header exhaust leaks that sort of sound like a lifter tapping.

If I had to do it again I would've gone with the BTR SLR lifters. And a different shop to do it all .

The lifters were fine. It's funny how people still call them LS7 lifters when they're the same lifters in every other LS motor built. This would have been the first time I had problems with "LS7" lifters, but there is clearly something else ******* up inside this engine.
