I have some questions for you guys that have had issues with the LS7 lifters.

1. Where did you guys with issues get the lifters from?

2. Were they in bulk packaging or individual boxed?

3. Did you clean or inspect each one prior to pre lubing them for assembly?

4. Did you depress the plunger several times to push the air out when pre soaking?

1. Ws6store
2. Individual in one large box like spark plugs
3. No nicks and all the rollers rolled well... no resistance.
4. I depressed them while submerged in oil. A lot of people don't know that trick surprisingly.

LS7 lifters are every bit as good as stock GenIII lifters.

I think the key is to get the lifters in the 8 pack box and the boxes should say AC delco on them including the individual box for each lifter. Those LS7 lifters sold on ebay in the non-labelled white boxes may be lifters that didn't meet QC being sold at a discount.

Well I changed the lifters and it sounds exactly the same. How many of you guys can clearly hear the sound in the video? What else could make that sound? The rod bearings, wrist pins, maybe a bent rod?

I put the LS2 cam in because I had it on the shelf, along with springs and a sensor. All I had to buy was a $40 cover. I also didn't have a LQ4 cam laying around...

The first set, no. The second set were used and soaked. I couldn't even depress the plungers. Put the stock pushrods back in. It's about 1-3/4 turn preload. The valve train seems quieter than before.

Damn sorry the lifters didn't fix it. The noise you are talking about isn't the sewing machine from the springs, its the rata tat tat in the background that moves with the engine speed correct?

Yea, that's the noise. I don't know where to go from here. I'm about to drive it and see if I can make it worse to try and help me "pinpoint" it. Lol
