Arrow Any benifit to running ls7 lifters???

I have a slight lifter tap I believe, hardly noticeable, to the normal folk wouldn't be.. I am going to try some oil treatment to see if it will stop it, pull the covers and go over the valves again.. If it doesn't stop it I might consider new lifters.. What if any is the beni of running the 7 lifters???

Thanks

From what I've read here, the LS7 lifters are actually the new stock replacements. One thing to consider though, hirdlej posted some pics of the LS7 lifters along side his original stockers, and the lifter cups on the LS7's aren't as deep as the originals...so I'm not sure if a shorter pushrod will be necessary. But it's my understanding that the LS7's are now the GM standard stock replacement.

Here's a link to an older thread of mine with pics of the LS7's along side some stockers:

Thanks Billy.. I have also heard that you might have to run a shorter PR.. I will have to check in to it. If that be the case, the tap doesn't go away, I will try to find some old stock ls lifters.. My fingers are crossed for a loose rocker, or the additive stops it..

LS7 to the left.

Most guys running a 7.4 need to switch to a 7.350 to get the right preload.
LS7 lifters seem to operate best between a .06 and .09 preload, buying one of those pushrod length deals would be the best bet.
