Get some eagle 6.125 rods. West Coast Cylinder Head makes a nice 6L head. I like nitrous for affordability and power, but a nice turbo will even better for power but alot more expensive.

Hes using the stock crank....i say keep the stock rods cuz they can hold a good amount of power with rod bolts. They are free too.

Most aftermarket pistons move the wirst pin up anyway to take into account the .027 difference. If he is going to forged pistons he might as well go to forged rods so when he decides to spray it, it will hold. The urge is inevitable, he WILL want more and later on IF he does decide to spray or go FI he will have to buy new pistons due to upgrading to the 6.125 rods, might as well get good rods and pistons so later he has the ability to upgrade to even more power reliably

thanks for all the replys! is STS turbos all that they are cut out to be or go with a under the hood turbo! are these venolia pistions ok in a dish pistion set up? also what kind of cam would be good for this motor. i want it to sound like a pro-mod at a stoplight, but still make good power.

Those pistons are great pistons even though you dont hear too muc about them. In order to give you a cam recommendation we need all specs including weight of truck, size stall, usage, mileage concerns? The "pro-mod" sound is going to require a pretty decent size cam which will require a large stall and single digit gasmileage most likely. And lastly STS kits are what they are cracked up to be, thats why I have one.

thanks for all the info! not sure about the weight of the truck. but it will be a 2wd ECSB truck for sure. the usage will be drove only on the weekend! not a everday truck. the pro-mod is just a figer of speach. . i had a 05 crew cab truck last year and i ask u some ? about it. it had a 212 218 cam and it would run its *** off but it did not "beat off" enough! so maybe like a 228-230 or someing i dont know. will u still here the cam with the sts. and how much boost can i get with this motor set up.-and HP?
