If your 4.8L doesn't have a massive cam or huge ported heads I would keep the stock intake manifold. It makes the best power under 4000 rpms. You can DIY port your throttle body, I just did and got a nice lil bit of power out of it.

As far a CAI, you only get so much power out of one so don't be fooled by company "Dyno #s"

I have a K&N with black plastic tube. You want a plastic tube vs. metal tube. Plastic tube don't get heat soaked as quickly. If I could re do it I would have gone volant, b/c they have a great air box design that keeps heat away.

If your on a budget you could just get a new k&n air filter and keep the stock box, and get an airaid tube. I think it's airaid that will directly fit. somebody will correct me if im wrong.

You can also look on the website for somebody selling a used CAI
