TIM Z so to do the first combo. The naturally aspirated. What would be a great combo of parts? I say I don't have much of a budget just might take a while to get it together. But I'd like to not do a turbo or blower. I don't know much bout the 5.3s I know a lot more about the older 350s so I appreciate y'all's help

No prob bud , we will try to help you
The LS engine family is just so much easier to work on , modify , makes way more power than the older generations of small blocks . You can do some reading on this at your leisure.
Any way with a 5.3 , I like an off the shelf Comp cam , a 212-218 low lift cam , Factory Corvette Z06 valve springs, along with a set of push rods ( prob 7.40) will be a great compliment to your truck , I ran this same cam with turbo and also NA , loved it , great sound at idle , nice to drive around town , and made great power where you can use it .
Now if you have high miles , swap in a set of lifters , get Factory LS7 lifters , also get an LS2 timing chain , and put a fresh water pump on while your doing it .
I would call SDPC , they are a sponsor and will give you all the info and parts in a package for you , I have great experience with dealing and buying from them .
Give us info about your truck so we can help ya more , we need to know mileage , and if everything is working properly and anything you have mod wise currently .
