Me and my shaguar

Yeah I don't know what happens to an oil pump at that rpm
I'm not even sure what happens to oil at that speed. I run Mobil 1 full synthetic now

It'd likely be backed by a manual since the motor won't have a computer anyhow.

I'd probably throw the engine together and see what happens. If it'll spool then I'd turbo and such.

Yeah super narrow powerband for sure. I was thinking 9,000 as the top of the power and probably idle at 2k or so. I'd like to see power come on at 6,500 and have turbos spool at the same time.

I've seen a copo 302 spool off a 8,000 rpm tach before. Dunno where it went from there. Supposedly it was still original, only problem he had was the fan on the alternator folding flat and v belts would leave at random times.

I had a buddy with a double hump head 350 with a big hydraulic cam. Cast pistons, cast crank, stock rods and all stock reused bolts. It lived a good while shifting out of first at 7200 to 7500+.

You might be better off asking the guys on ls1 tech for that question. Most of us truck guys keep it under 6500.

I know I am nowhere near the highest, but I turned my 5.3 with Katech rod bolts 7200 once.

To make a high reving engine you want the lightest rods and pistons possible. You also like longer rods(it keeps the rod at less of an angle, and puts less stress on the cylinder wall). It will not be easy to do.

With that being said, I would go exactly the opposite route. I would build a big stroke low end torque engine if I were running the Texas mile. I would try to keep it lower in the RPM range to use the grunt of it. I have never done a high speed vehicle, who knows, maybe I am completely wrong.
