799 heads questions?

Default 799 heads questions?

I have a 5.3 with 862 on it now. so i was wonder if i mill the 799 .50 thousands and use a .40 thousands head gasket if ill have and problems with ptv clearances.

I think you'll probably be ok. Make sure to check before bolting down though.

Havnt done it yet. Just wondering any idea what the compression would be around?

I know milled .030 with the .040 gasket, you're at 9.9:1. You'll be at roughly 57.5 cc chambers with a .050 mill. Should put you at roughly 10.3:1. As far as PTV clearances... I'm not sure, the dished pistons may give you the clearance you need. Best thing to do is to take one of your old head gaskets with the new head, torque it down, and do a clay impression, measure the impression and subtract .011 from it. This will give you your clearance with the new heads and gasket.
