Default 6L rod length

I've read sevral places that the stock rod length is 6.100" but all the aftermarket pistons I'm finding are for a 6.125" rod... Are they moving wristpin locations or something?

This is for an '07 LQ4 (LS2 rods)

I don't think they changed anything with the ls2 LQ4, but yes. factory rod length is 6.098. You can find aftermarket rods at 6.100, but most will be 6.125, which will be fine. Just pay close attention to your deck height and your piston height.
What is the engine going to be built for? N20? FI? N/A?

The gen3 engines share the same rod bearing as the 1968/69 + gen1 & 2. All gen3's have the 6.098 rod with .945" wrist pin with exception of the 4.8 which uses a longer rod. The gen1 engines have a .927" wrist pin. The 6.125" aftermarket rods are aftermarket gen1 rods with the .927" wrist pin and the pistons are made to fit as well. You can get the 6.100" in both the gen1 .927" pin and they sell them honed out for the .945" factory style pistons.

Yeah, keeping stock rods and just doing pistons.

I'm just having problems finding 4.060" pistons for 6.100" rods.

I'm really not wanting to shell out $120+ per piston for custom slugs

This motor is being built for boost....

Diamond used to have the best selection of stock rodded pistons off the shelf.
Yeah, for the price of custom pistons you could get some cheap H-beam 6.125's and off the shelf pistons for a similar price.

I really don't think your gona find an off the shelf .060 over pistion for a stock rod, most likely have to go with custom or look into some Scat I beams, there pretty cheap forged rods that you can get in 6.125 and .927 pin. Mauhle and Scats is probable gona be your best bet I would think with out breaking the bank.
