Question 6.0l Help!

i have a 2001 6.0L lq4 in my garage all dissasembled. I now need a new cam because the old got water rust and now is pitted, i also need a new crank because it also has water spots and rust from rain. I bought new pistons flat top from gm. i am keeping everything std. i don't what type of cam to buy for it or an inexpensive crank for it either. As far as the bearings go i don't know who to buy them from, also i need gaskets, does anyone have a master gasket kit for this engine? i also don't know if i need to replace the cylinder head bolts. Any info will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Joel

I would have the crank looked at by a machine shop before you write it off.

SDPC (sponsor on the right side---->) Will have a master gasket kit for you.

The cam will depend on many things.
How high are you gonna rev?
What lift are you wanting?
Gonna replace the stock springs?
What weight is the truck its going in?
Are your future plans including a Supercharger/Turbo/Nitrous?
You want low end TQ or top end HP?
You want a lopey idle or stock sounding?
Do you have a torque converter other than stock?
With flat top pistons, what compression ratio are you shooting for?
This is the kind of info people will need to give an educated answer on cam choice. I'm sure I missed a few things, others will chime in.
