6.0 Rebuild
#1
I'm currently rebuilding my 6.0 I need a set of forged rods and pistons. Can anyone tell me the stock rod length and piston size for a standard bore. Also, I know this has been beaten to death, but any recommendations for my build. I have a stock cam and crank. I have a set of 72cc stage 3 heads, studs, cometic gaskets and will be going back with FI.

Stock piston bore is 4.00
Rod length is 6.125
I went with diamond pistons and eagle rods on my build. So far im very happy with everything that i picked. Just pick your piston cc and your CR. You will have to decide what and how much boost your going to run. Im running a 9.3-1 CR. I would also go with a bigger cam while your in there along with everything else. Such as timing chain, lifters, ect. I didnt skimp on anything and im glad i didnt because i have a peace of mind now. There is alot that goes into these builds. If you have any question on what i used i will post the link to my build and parts list. But i would go with at least a zo6 cam if your going boost.

Thanks guys, but which length is the right one?? Also, thanks for the link gao8302. I have some comp lifters laying around that I had in a 408, but the top retainer came lose on two of them. I'm kinda scared to try them again stock lifters seem to work fine.

Comp lifters are no good. Just get some LS7 lifters. 6.125 is the correct length. Check out Texas speed and performance for all your engine parts. They have the best prices and carry everything you need.
