excatly, its just like gears when you go from 3.42 to 4.10's you will more than likely get better gas mileage in town because you are using less petal to get up to speed because its easier on the engine so therefore you get better gas mileage in town.

actually it makes perfect sense. The lighter truck will get better gas mileage and will still have the HP to handle duties a burner won't.
Has anyone noticed if they increased the towing capacity?

i picked up 1.5 mpg going from 3.42s to 4.10s around town. gas mileage went way down on the highway though....
