I plan on using HP tuners to tune everything, and yes Im running a turbo 350 with a 3500 stall. I dont have very far to drive everyday to work so it should be alright. Im thinking about boring it out some too. Its all going in a 1995 Pontiac Firebird that has a 3.4L in it now. I am putting the Precision Race Component Spring Kit from Texas speed on the heads to support the MASSIVE lift this damn cam has, but havent decided if I wanna switch heads or just go with the 5.3L heads since they flow pretty damn well. Any suggestions would be awesome.
Thank yall for all the input.

I think with a tune I should be able to run 36# injectors with a good tune. This will be my first time to tune a 5.3 with this big of a cam but I dont think it will be that difficult. I think with a turbo 350 i wont have to go with 4.10's in the rear im gonna try some 3.73 and see how that works for me. My goal is about 420-450 to the ground, I should be happy with that for now.

if you're planning on boring it out . . . plan on spending 500-600, most just bore the 5.3 to a 5.7 bore to use stock sized LS1 pistons.
stock 5.3 heads, and a MS4 . . . that would be called "over camming an engine" Now if you got the 5.3 heads ported or bought a set of 243s, the it would be better.
When you're buying a set of springs for a cam . . . it's not just the lift that you need, it's also the seat open/closed pressure that you need for the cam.

Plenty of good thread already on all of this . . .

I thought the 5.3L came with 243 heads?? Or are they the LS1 heads. I plan on doing a little bit of work to the heads bigger valves and stuff like that but the Precision Race Component Spring Kit from texas speed are what they recommend for the MS4 cam. It comes with the springs, Titanium Retainers,Hardened Spring Seats, and New Viton Valve Seals. You dont think 36# will work if it is tuned right? Or do you think ill be running lean all of the time?

243 heads are ls6 heads, they did come on the 5.3's but not till 06 up or 799's which are the same as the 243 heads

Alright that makes sense. I would still have to do springs upgrades and everything right. The 243 just have bigger valves so this monster can breath a little better correct. And anyone know where to pick some bare ones up for cheap?
