Default 5.3l build

So I am trying to piece together a 5.3l for my v6 to v8 swap and I just picked up a l59 with 99k on it for dirt cheap. I want to throw some fresh pistons and rings in it as well as a cam before it goes in the truck. So my question is can I just got some 4.8l pistons to put in there? What years can I use, or should I just use 5.3l stuff. Keep in mind I am trying to do this as cheap as possible while still gaining some performance. I want the truck to be a fun DD nothing crazy. Thanks

So then what would you recommend I do, just get some pistons and mill the heads to gain a little compression?

i think the flattops with stock heads give you 10:1 compression
