Throttle response is what you're after with a ported throttle body. The gains will be minimal at best as for horsepower/torque, but the additional inrush of air at the same throttle % is what you'll feel, making the motor "peppier" and quicker to follow your foot's requests for power.

Consult your machine shop for how much to mill the heads. How do you know to take .040" off? Tell your machine shop the target compression ratio, and let them go to work.

Pushrod length should be checked by a pushrod checker and determined after you come up with a measurement. You'll know how long they need to be after you mill the heads and button the long block up, heads and all.

Chances are you will not need bigger injectors. I say that lightly though, because you'll need to tune the motor once complete anyways, so let the tuner tell you the duty cycle of your stock injectors. Check first, see where you stand, then go from there.

that's just a number i took out of no where. to be honest, i know nothing of doing head work.

so you'd suggest letting the shop do all the work?

At least doing the machine work and helping with suggestions. There are very few things more helpful than a local shop assisting you on the way. You build maybe 1 motor in a year...if that? They build motors every day. Let the experienced do their job.
