it's a reachable goal, but it might take some time and research to test out the right combinations that work.

all bolt-ons, good cam, heads, higher CR, car intake manifold, and throttle body is a must.

do ported and polished throttle bodies really make that much of a difference? would it be worth it to spend the 500 bucks on a clean 90mm or whatever the aftermarket size is? i think reaching that 400 hp goal is reachable but seems like a better idea to try to reach a track number because most of the time HP peak is nothing but bragging rights, the truth lies in the times. its all possible with alotta..$$dough$$ and time to boot

you can run 13:1 on 93 Ive seen it done

there are several ways around this one of them is proper tuning with a wideband and running 13.1 afr all the time instead of 14.7

I would take dyno numbers with a grain of salt. How people run them varies too much. Hell take v8's dyno chart from a while back it said he made 280ish to the wheels but yet he could run mid 12s all day long. You need more than 280 to run mid 12s Back when I had the 5.3 the dyno operator could have played with the correction factor a bit and given me 400rwhp with just bolt ons and a cam. IMO dyno #s are misleading someone can be on a better(higher reading) dyno and have better numbers but he may not necessarily be making more hp. Such as la charcoal, I really dont see him putting 360 to the ground when others with bigger cams and more bolt ons are making less. I believe the correction factor was toyed with a bit or if the tc was locked like blue said then his numbers are null and void when comparing to others with an unlocked tc. Difference between a locked and unlocked tc from personal experience that I have seen has been up to 30hp and Im sure it could be more on a more radical setup.

400rwhp N/A 5.3=all bolt ons with tuned length long tube headers, 2wd, open headers on the dyno, lightweight flexplate, billet d-shaft, light wheels, all bolt ons, the best heads on the market, FAST intake and a high 230 duration cam.

Even with all that I dont know if it would happen. That is alot to ask out of 325 CI of displacement. You are asking it to make almost 500hp at the crank and well you may be able to do it but I wouldnt expect it to last too long. Tuning would have to be at the jagged edge and with the amount of timing you would have to run, one little blip of detonation and your motor is gone.

I would go to a 6L and shoot for 400rwhp much easier and much more reliable

Sorry to interupt with a dumb question but I thought I read somewhere that our truck intakes had better flow and produced more power than the vette, camaro intakes and the only reason those cars didn't get our intakes was because it wouldn't clear the hood or something....
