If you are going to dual spring valve springs I would stay away as the valves are two piece.Under higher spring pressures they have been known to fail.

Stock LS1 bore is 3.898", so they should definitely be able to handle that. Most overbore LS1's can go to 3.905" Sonic Test the bores!

I agree, if the block checks out it could be possible to go out to a 3.910" max bore, the same as what is possible with a good '99 and later LS1/LS6 block. The '97 & '98 LS1 blocks typically have a 3.905" max bore.
