Teh 80e has a 2.48:1 first gear ratio but when you get it built you can get the first gear upgrade and it changes it to like 3.06. You want to do that for sure. Stall speed depends alot on your torque curve but I would say close to a 3000 that will allow you to build boost off the line and come out of the hole hard. You can try the 10bolt and see if it will live happy parishes 10bolt lasted a long time. You can start by putting fresh gears, new bearings, detroit locker(since you will be offroading the new ones arent nearly as bad about road manners as the older ones), and t/a makes a diff cover for it that preloads teh bearing caps to make it stronger they are available from thuder racing. IMO that would be enough.

BTW the air filter setup you are talking about sounds good just make sure when you make the trip to the car wash leave the vehicle running so you dont crack the turbine housing when the cold water hits it.

i would go with a fuddle racing converter, reasonable pricing, everyone likes em, you can lock them up and tow with them.
i would have FLP build your tranny i've only heard good things about them. parish's is a flp level 5 4l80e i think.

Ok, i am going to get the 80e tranny, with a lower gear in first, and 3.73 in the rear or should i go lower?
once i get all the information i will post everything we are about to do and let everyone look over it. for approval haha
will this drive lines work?

Only real reason I said 3.73s is cause you probabaly already have them and for the difference in money its not worth it IMO. If you haev the money and want to do it then do 4.10s they will be perfect.

I am well aware of complex machines and how their failure rates relate to the number of moving/working parts.

For what it is worth if it was my vehicle I would do the engine you were tlaking about with the turbo with the filter in the bed, a built 80e by FLT(not flp) with 4.10 gears(if you have the money to do the swap if not the 3.73s IMO are jsut fine) if you ahve any other questions or want my opinion you have my email address feel free to use it.

ok, so i will go with 4.10's in the rear, do i need to leave the stock rear or what, if i need something different please send me a link to where i can get a new rearend that will handel this. Once i have the rearend that is rec. and everyone agrees on i will post everything that is to be done and let everyone look over it. And make changes from there, if there are any. By the way thank you all for the help. I know what engine, turbo, intercooler, trans. etc. i want but not sure one the rear.
