I've seen a T56 and TKO600 shifter routed through the open half of the center console, retaining the cup holders. I'm sure it was a custom shifter, but that's easy work.

unfortunately, neither of those trans will work in your 4wd, which is why I would go allison 6 speed manual if you can swing it $$ wise. I've always preferred manuals offroad anyways.

Liek I said in the email I wouldnt want to do it but thats jsut me too much truck/power/tires to be shifting all the time and you need to concentrate on driving with that much power in a truck and being that high off the ground. A 1000hp in a car is totally different from a 1000hp in a jacked up truck.

Stock gear ratio will be fine with that much power you wont need anymore. You most likely have 3.73s since its a z71 so that woiuld be fine. I would go with a 12 bolt with some nice moser axles or something equal to them and a eaton lsd or a detroit locker owuld probably be the best for all out strength.

I didnt know they made an allison 6 speed manual, can you give me details, price, how much power it can handle, etc. etc.

I thought about converting my truck but I know I cant use a t56 because of the 4x4 and I was told that the 6-speed manuals arent too strong... unless the 6-speed manual you're talking about is the one found in the trucks from the factory.

The ZF whatever 6 speed is strong but the extrmely low first gear makes it damn near useless its like 6.00 or something close to it. Its the one thats in HD trucks with manuals.

Sorry, I meant the ZF S6-650 6-speed. As you know, the allison is the 5 speed auto.

The ZF S6-650 comes from the factory behind the 8.1L and Duramax and is stronger and lighter than the NVG 4500 5-speed it replaces. I hear new cost from a GM parts discount house has it at about $3100, which is very competitive with its competition.

Ratios are as follows:
1: 5.79
2: 3.31
3: 2.10
4: 1.31
5: 1.00
6: 0.76

However, I haven't confirmed that the bellhousing pattern is the same yet.
