I would say it needs a built 4l80e, a ZF 6 speed, or an allison 6 speed

I would install a good locker in the rear and that's it... works for Parish.

Well Im putting a forged 408 in my ecsb Z71. We will always have traction you wont. 2wd sucks. Plus it hurts peoples feelings alot worse when its a big *** truck, I have personally hurt a few cocky car guys feelings.

Thats what i am talking about. Plus i have had this truck for about five years and it is like my baby or something, never going to get rid of it, it is paid off, and i am just paying insurance now.

What type of manifold and TB do i need i have been looking at this one along with the fuel rails. http://wilsonmanifolds.com/lsx_espanol.html

Still have not made up my mind on the tranny, i was looking at the 4l80E but i read somewhere where the highest shift rpm is 5200, the motor we are building will be turning a little more than that.

You can shift it way past that. 5200 is stupid. Third gear may be limited to that not sure I think moregrip was complaining about something with that rpm. But third in an 80e is going to be like 125 and you dont want to go any faster trust me with that lifted truck minehas been up to a little over 130 at stock height and it was hard to control to say the least. I dont know why that intake says wilson on it but the fast system is a good system pm 2toneblown he ahs one on his 408 with a turbo he can give you a personal experience as to how well it works.

Im guessing for a built 80e, the parts to converter it, the engine, and turbo will probably caost him close to 12 grand or so. My built 60e was 3grand and it bolts right in, my 408 will cost me 4grand by the time its all said and done and his engine is going to be alot more expensive than mine plus the cost of the turbo stuff and the parts needed to put the 80e in his truck.

Hey, i think the engine was around 13k from LME, the turbo with intercooler, meth. and the GT 70 turbo is around 6K or so, then the trans, which i am not sure on it yet and rearend. Then a few more K, for elec. fans, maf sensor, headers, injectors, manifold and the smaller picky things. We are going to try to get 8-900 CHp out of it. We will keep trying till we do.

Would a manual or auto trans. be better for this, i have the center console in my truck, (everyone that has a chevy like mine knows what i am talking about) with the cup holder, i was wondering if anyone had changed it over to a manual trans and put in a sports car style shifter where the cup holder is, i dont know if this is doable but i was thinking it would be nice to have.
