5.3 to 6.0 help
I have a 2000 silverado with a 5.3 can I switch in a 2002 6.0 in its place with using all the original 5.3 wiring and trans? I am not doing any performance upgrades I just need more torque. Can I just have the prom tuned to the 6.0
would any of this make a difference if it is an escalade ho 6.0 or a chevy 6.0
would any of this make a difference if it is an escalade ho 6.0 or a chevy 6.0

Yes you can, the 6.0, as long as it is from an 01+, will bolt right in place of your 5.3, and you can re-use your wiring harness, PCM, sensors, etc. The PCM will need to be tuned, and the trans should have some upgrades done (shift kit, servos) or you'll more than likely be replacing that shortly thereafter. Do a search for "6.0 swap", and you'll find a bunch of threads verifying this

If you're looking for more torque I'd recommend a nice mild cam while you have the engine out, you don't have to go too crazy on the duration, a 212/218 will work in a 6.0 with the stock converter, or you could go with something in the 216/22x range and compliment it with a nice 2600 stall converter. I just ordered a Vinci Trucker for my LQ9 build (216/224 .551/.551 115), and I plan on a 2600 converter (I'm leaning towards CircleD). Not sure if Vinci has any cams left though, as Crane grinds his bumpsticks and they closed their doors about a month ago...

Get a cam, I had a 1500 HD with a 6.0 and a very mild cam and it made more torque than you could imagine for no more than it was. I would get something in the 2teens with >.550ish lift so you can run the LS6 springs and keep it very reasonable. Get the LQ9 if possible with the little hotter cam, some headers, exhaust, and a tune. Get the cam small enough to run the stock stall because if you are needing torque I am guessing you tow so don't go with a stall because the 60E won't live long.

I did the 5.3L to 6.0L LQ9 on mine too a while back.Truck was still under warranty.
IMO,worth every penny,resold the 5.3L,got 75% on what I spent on the 6.0L.
Bolted right up.Tuned the ECM for maximum performance.
