Default 408 Stroker low oil pressure (video)

of course another problem. OK so after a little highway race, I get to a red light and notice my oil pressure was unnormally low like 15-20 and I hear a faint lifter tap. But when I drive it will go up to 55-60 And no lifter tap. I have a mellings high volume oil pump. Only 2000 miles on everything.

Its probably the pump. Could be the pick up o ring as well.

Best way to verify its not the sender is to put a mechanical gauge on it. If its truly low, gotta take the timing cover off to check the pump and o ring.

Beyond that, mains and cam bearings dictate oil pressure in the LS motors. Someone with more experience can speak to that, I just recently learned our cam bearings were critical of oil pressure.

What's the last mod made to the engine? Any cam swap lately?

so I took it to the builder he says its probably the bearings also my oil pressure is even lower than what the gauge on the cluster display. Its lingering around 20-25 at idle. And sometime goes as low as 15psi
