Default 408 or 6.0 w/ Whipple?

Hi guys and gals!

I'm a newbie to this site and am full of questions! If you guys can bear with me I'd really appreciate it!!

I currently have an 03' RCSB Sierra with the 4.8l and it's finally scattered.

So here's my delimma...

I have an 06 lq4 and tranny sitting on a pallet sitting at a buddy's shop. I was wondering what you guys would rather run for a DD?

Sell he Whipple and use that money and take the motor and have it bored and stroke it for a 408 or...
Keep the whipple and just drop the motor in and throw the charger on?

Which one would be more reliable and have more power potential?

If I keep the Whipple I won't have money to build anything on the motor really so what are some key parts that I should have for this setup?

And what all should I do if i do the 408 stroker?
Any and all your help will be much appreciated!!!

I dont think that the Whipple is worth enough to buy everything you need. From what I know, the Whipples don't have a good resale value. The rotating assembly for the 408 is going to cost you between 2500-3000, and the heads are at least another 2500. Not to mention all the small stuff that adds up. It really depends on your budget. It might be easier to throw the Whipple on the 6.0. I think the 408 has the potential to have more power depending on the components you purchase.

I think with the 6.0, whipple and a pulley you should easily get into the 400+rwhp and the 450+ rwtq #'s. That is a lot of fun and stock street manners.

what are your current mods and goals for the truck. There a plenty of head and cam 6.0 running really well.

well i would say build ya a 408 but you can easily spend thousands of dollars doing so, and since you might not get much out of the whipple i would just keep it and throw it on the lq4 imo

Okay. So building a 408 is just out of the budget I want to spend. So my goal now is to make a very fast whipple 6.0l.

What do you guys recommend I do? Is it possible to make 500+hp with this setup? I'm really upset with header options right now since I live in California and can't run long tubes.

Also what cam should I run?

What are the key parts I should pick up?
