Default 4.8 vs 5.3

what are the differences i heard that the block and the heads are the same so the crank and the pistons are different and thats it?

same block completely. 5.3 is basically a stroker 4.8

dished vs flat top pistons, different rod and stroke length.

The 4.8 is clearly the superior motor.

yea, pistons and crank and rods are the diff.

4.8 pistons are flat, 5.3 pistons are dished.
4.8 crank has a shorter stroke than the 5.3.
4.8 rods are longer than the 5.3's.

I don't think one is "superior" over the other, they are just different.

Theres a 10 horse diff from the factory is there any reason to care about this at all?

Yes, it's a lot like Star Trek the Next Generation. In many ways it's superior, but it will never be as original as the first.

The 4.8's hp maybe rated 10 less, but there's a huge difference in tq.
