4.8 knowledge
#11
as posted by a few previous members a lifter upgrade would be cheap insurance, ls7 lifters are affordable and take more abuse. you can get them through tsp for 140 bucks, as stated above with the cam swap valve springs and pushrods are a must. tsp and thunderracing both sell cam packages pretty reasonably. also try to find yourself a TBSS intake manifold, some long tubes and ORY and get yourself a mail order tune, or if there are any reputable speed shops by you throw it up on the dyno. it should definitley help get that 4.8 moving!

TSP (texas speed &performance)is one of our sight sponsors located on your right hand side of the page, tbss is trailblazer ss or nnbs(new new body style) intake manifold which is a direct bolt on depending on the year of your truck. ory (off road ypipe) thats uncatted. either way wether you stick with the 4.8 or swap, if ya wanna go fast its gonna cost some coin. although a lot of people knock the 4.8 due to its smaller displacement they are wicked little motors if done up right. ive got a decent amount of work done to my 4.8 and im pretty proud of how it does. and as mikegyver stated a supercharger definitley isnt a bad way to get some ponies out of the thing too. theyres plenty of options, just find out what your goal really is for the truck and go from there
