The 218/224 cam I have in my high compression 6L is little on the side of "too big". Why the need for such a big cam in a little motor?

have a similar cam ,lunati 221/221. needs a good tune, but runs great in town. makes great power 3000-6500+ 318hp/302tq thru a 5 speed and all bolt ons.

Does comp cams have any XER lobes smaller 220?
