heres my story... Built my own turbo kit - all was great for 3 months - blown tranny #1 (stock)
Build tranny slightly and add shift kit, vette servo's etc, 3000stall converter while it was out.
1 month later, rear end and tranny grenaded AT THE SAME TIME. Now i'm on a fully built 60e and detroit truetrac so far so good. Much much much more than $5k

 

well guys

after reading all the posts i made my mind to swap with 6.2 denali engine and 6 speed transsmision all stock 400hp

then add , Cam, exhaust muffler , headers , nelsone tune for 80~70 hp

total of 480 hp , clean and daily use

6.2 with 6l80 speed transsmsion would be 8000 usd ?

 

no replacement for displacement, it will be much easier to reach 500 with that motor, good luck!

 

That truck will be a beast when it's finished.
