With all respects, does it matter?

This guy needs to search a bit more. The answer is obviously forced induction, which he can find answers to in the forced induction forum.

I understand just was curious to know, as it will be really hard to do, will more then likely have more $$ in it than a engine swap...

with a 5000 $ budget you may be able to get your motor to 550 but that does not include the new trans thnat you will need.

I say go the turbo route

contact KBracing96, his stock internal 4.8 (ls6 equivalent cam) made 550. To the wheels.

EDIT: Also with the stock 60E

Id look around for a lq4 or a 5.3 you can get a low mileage motor for anywhere between 1000 and 1500. I just got a new lq4 for 1400. And on a 5000 IMO i dont think you will be able to reach that. Im looking at over 7000 for the stuff i have includes tranny turbo and motor. Im not counting the tune and injectors and all the ins and outs. I would definitly get a larger motor first and 550hp would intail a new tranny stock tranny wont last to long.

getting to 550hp on $5000.00 is possible but **** will start breaking and end up taking you to 7-9k pretty damm fast!!

Set a more achievable goal for that $5000 or save up more money. You can get started with that much money but it will take alot more to make 550rwhp and not have to worry about breaking when you go WOT.
