I previously had a set of ported 241 (LS1) heads on it for a ~9.8 cr. I am currently in a rebuild process and have a set of TFS245 with 70cc chambers for a ~9.5 cr. A 71cc 317 head would put that combo between 9.4-9.5 depending on deck height and gaskets used.

thanks for the input but I was looking to stay more to factory length .trying not to change piston dwell .longer rod would change dwell by staying at tdc longer .which require a better set of heads for my combo. if I decide to a ls1 I will probably change rod length .
