224 in a 4.8
well i can get my hands on a tr224/563 on a 112lsa for a good price off one of my buddys but my problem is i have a 4.8 im thinking its to big i would like to go with a 220/581 on a 112lsa i allready have a ss3600 verter and 4.10s fully built trans LTs supporting mods but is it worth it i dont like doing things twice

i mean Randy does know his **** but 15-20 hp & tq seems a lil on the high side to me.
that's coming from someone who has a tr220...
i really would like to try one of his cams but my junk runs way too good like it is to change something out.

so you guys think its to big cause if so im not going to waste my time i want to do this one time you think a 220/581 is a better choice or maybe a 216/220 560/560 114lsa

with your convertor and gear, you will be ok.... smaller cam would work alot better, cuz the 4.8 does lack bottom end tq. Mine put down 305 I think, It pulled much better up top obviously

I installed a 224 in a 4.8 nearly 2 years ago that had come out of a 6.0. I also put in some 1.8 Scorpions. Installed Comp 918s and had the PCM reflashed by TSP. It has 25% underdrive and electric fans. All the top end stuff except long tubes and CNCed heads. With the Scorpions the lift is close to 580. It still runs like a scalded dog and I haven't had to ever turn a wrench on it since it left my driveway. Go for it.
