212/218 low lift cam for 4.8?
#11
The higher lift doesn't really move the powerband up any, rather, it just makes a bit better power and torque all the way across the powerband. It works with stock converter just as well as the low lift cam does.

With 3.42's I was getting about 23 on the highway unloaded and about 16-18 pulling my 4x4 Toyota (5000-6000lb including trailer). With 3.73's I get about 22 on the highway unloaded and about 18-19 pulling the 4x4. I can maintain speed much easier with the gear swap and the truck responds much better when trying to pass. It is only a couple hundred rpm difference between the 3.42 and 3.73 anyway.

My plan is to do a 212/218 highlift cam with a 114lsa, and retune it with a posi and 373s. then later do a 3200 stall with a rpm level 4 tranny that I have been looking at with a 6.0 lq9 and a texas speed 224 cam
