2009 L92 camshaft question
#1
Guy's I bought a 6.2 from a member on here a while back that I put in my 2011 reg cab and had a cam question, .010 over, 823's with a little bowl work, yank 3600, a loose 3600 I might add, and 3.42's the truck is pretty strong but soft down low and yes I know the 3.42's aren't helping any thing, my question is with the cam shaft, it's a tspl99vvt-1, duration at .050 is 223-227, lobe lift is .370 .370, valve lift @ 1.7 is .629 .629. lobe sep is 113, and intake center line is 107, what my tuner and I were looking is the split seems too close, were going to get a new one cut and get rid of the vvt, the motor runs good and not knocking texas speed by no means just think we could use a little more camshaft and just looking for thoughts. THANKS!
Oh by the way going to install some 3.73's next week, had 4.10's in another 6.2 truck at one time but with the steep first gear in the 6l80 seemed a little much, the compression is around 10.5 also. THANKS AGAIN!

So it's a +6 advanced cam and it still feels soft down low? Even with 3.42s it should move pretty good.
There is an art to VVT tuning as well. Advance it down low and start pulling the cam back as RPM's rise.

Guy's it's not super awful but from around 4500 or so to 6500 it's a beast, the exhaust is a little restricted so I'm changing it to a 3.5 inch magnaflow then 3 in all the way out, not to mention it's so dam hot and muggy down here, going to put the 3.73's in this week, hope to get some track time this weekend if the weather holds then go from there. THANKS!

Guy's not quite up on all the vvt stuff so bare with me, when my tuner started on the truck it was throwing a vvt code and he killed it but what is the chance that it's retarding the camshaft, were going to touch up the tune this weekend since I've been driving the truck a good bit but was just wondering. THANKS!

It looks like a good cam but the owner says it "pushes" at idle. I don't know that that means.

I'm thinking it still has the stock stall. I'm still looking for the perfect setup. I wan't to keep vvt and stock stall but still be able to tow and gain as much as possible.
