Default 1.85 rocker arm??

Anybody know of of any gm vehicle that has 1.85 rocker arms I can use on my LM7 motor? And is the swap to the LQ heads worth it or is it just a small gain??

I'm pretty sure the 1.85 roller rockers are only an aftermarket part. I don't think they come on anything factory.(I could be wrong)

Swapping the LQ heads to your 5.3 would be a bad idea unless they were milled a lot. Because they have a larger combustion chamber than your 5.3 heads and that means your compression ratio would go way down.

1.7s are stock ratio. You can get the OEM style in 1.85(SLP) or Comp Pro Mags. I believe the Z06 LS7 uses a 1.8 stock rocker.

I see now.... the first article I read said they both have a 71cc chamber but it must be a misprint I just read Car Crafts article showing the LM7 with 61 cc chambers. There isn't any heads with smaller chambers to use either. Maybe somebody knows something on the rocker arms. If not do the LS cams fit in these motors? I know they have very agressive specs.

yes the LS camshafts DO fit in those motors. You could have your heads milled or buy some with smaller chambers to up your compression ratio.

the ls7 comes with 1.8 rocker arms stock but the intake rocke arms are on a offset so you wouldnt be able to use them but you can try to buy a set of exuast rocker arms from GM and that should do it...

I remember there being some interest in the LS7 1.8 rockers a few years ago and somebody bought one and tried it out. I can't remember why, but for some reason it didn't work.
