Default 08 Sierra Cam Question

Just got off the phone with comp cams. I called them to get their opinion on a cam upgrade for my truck. I was told that they currently don't have any cams available for my truck because "the newer late model engines use a different core." I am new to cams and don't really understand a lot about them. But my question is do any of you know of a cam combo that work in my truck. The engine is a 5.3 flex fuel with displacement on demand. The engine is stock expect for a p1sc procharger running 8-9lbs, 42lb injectors and a boost a pump. Sorry if this is a newbie question but I was under the impression that there were cams available for my truck.

New New Body Style.
The old motors, lol, used a 3 bolt cam gear setup. ie 3 bolts to attach the gear to the cam. The new motors use a 1 bolt cam gear. ie 1 bolt to attach the gear to the cam.

Do you have a VVT motor (Variable Valve Timing)? I think that's a different animal as well. I'm sure someone will correct me if i'm wrong

I forgot to mention. I have AFM, but not VVT. My first cam was a regrind on a stock core. It was a single bolt cam. My new cam is a 3 bolt cam. You can use the 3rd gen cams with a Z06 cam sprocket and they will work. I have the part numbers at home or you can just do a search on here.

Not sure if mine is a VVT, how can I find out? Feel like it probably is.

Ok good to know. Sounds like the guys at comp cams was full of it. Shouldn't be that hard to find a replacement cam then, right?
