Default Gear Question

Guy's has the after market started making gears locker etc for our trucks, ( 14 GMC), I know we've been kind of limited so far from looking at some old post, looks like east coast gear supply has some things, think I'm going to try my buddy who works for a dealership close on some GM gears, these 3.08's have got to go lol. THANKS!

Some of the trucks come with limited slip or whatever. Not sure which one which my truck has. I have the 3.42 and it's nice but I also have a smaller rear tire which makes a huge difference

We are stuck with a stock diff but yukon said they are working on them as we speak. Yukon makes 3.73, 4.10, 4.56 for the new 12 bolts. You can use a 3.42 carrier for the use of 3.73 and up ring and pinion sets.

That's kind of what I was thinking, you would think by now the after market would have stepped up, how are the new G80's bought like the old ones. THANKS!

Checked with my buddy at our local gm dealer and all there showing for the truck is 3.42's and 4.10's, really hate to tear into it to install these, had 4.10's in my 6.2 truck and first gear in the trans is so low that never got the 1-2 to shift with out bumping the limiter at the track, had a pretty loose verter in it too, the same one that's going in this truck, going to do some more checking around, 07softail looks like it's going to be a G80 for the locker lol, should be fine for some boltons. THANKS!

I missed that! Rather stick with GM if possible, most after market gears I ran with various installers always seem to be noisy or something! You ain't far from me you want to do it!

The AAM gears will make noise no matter what you do. AAM is who makes them for GM. I have 4.10s on a stock carrier. G80 is the RPO for limited slip. To my knowledge Yukon has a carrier out now for the 14+ 5.3L truck rear diffs. Check ECGS I'm almost positive they have it. After using factory everything to install my gears I wish I would have tried another manufacturer due to the noise I get on decel. Took the diff apart 2 times and measured everything and noise was still there. Have seen a few other cases of people using AAM 4.10s with the same result. Just my thoughts.
