Oh and thanks madmann for the "RA" comment. I couldn't remember what that was called to save my life.
Just found out from TSP the head gasket for my 6.2 is on national back order.
I'm going to call back today and see if I could get the rest of the stuff shipped to me so I can go ahead and swap the cam and maybe take the valve springs and valve seal and retainers to the machine shop. The machine shop said they would put them in if I brought it to them.

If they don't have them check with BTR, Katech, Vengence racing, etc. Places that do a lot of gen 5 stuff..

Just got off the phone with TSP and they are going to go ahead and send me the rest of the parts minus the head gasket.
GMpartsdirect.com is out too. I'll call some local dealerships and see what they have.

Man if it gets all the old crap off that would be the best plan. No sanding or scraping at all is the best way if possible.

Try the dealer, gmpartsdirect.com, scoggins dickey for the head gaskets.

Fk VR. My personal opinion.
Oven cleaner works. It’s not perfect but it does a nice job at lifting the hard stuff off, mainly the fire ring which is about all that sticks anyway.

Yellow top oven cleaner worked great. This is a pic with just yellow top oven cleaner and a razor blade. I haven’t sanded it yet.
tried to use my neighbor’s pulley puller but he didn’t have all the parts so the nut went to far into the crank. I’ll rent one tomorrow from advance auto.

Vengeance Racing says they have them in stock but TSP can’t really credit me back for not sending the head gasket. And I’m at my limit according to the “boss” on how much I’ve spent in this truck. She’ll kill me if I drop another 100$ on head gaskets that I already bought.
