Double Cab 5.3 in the mid-low 13's
#1
I know its possible. My question is what will it take?
Currently i have a 2014 Double cab 5.3 with 3.42's. It is more or less stock.
I am finally done with my boat, and am going to start modding my truck.
Yesterday i ordered a new set of tires (Goodyear Eagle LS2's i like them) and a 2/4 Rough Country drop.
Ordering a CAI next week. Most likely a Volant, unless someone has a better idea or suggestion. Currently, i have a stock exhaust, with the muffler cut out. Thinking about going a different route with this. But i HATE drone.
Thinking i should be safe with Magnaflow, i dont really need it LOUD but want good flow and performance. If it must be loud then so be it.
So here's my plan
CAI
3" Cat back, dumped at the axle
RC 2/4 Drop
Pacesetter longtubes and off road Y pipe
Tune after the headers are installed. Question, will the truck go into reduced power if i drive without the rear O2's? Should i get simulators?
Considering 4.10's
Considering a converter
However, i do tow with the truck. Not a lot of weight approx 3k pounds.
Anyone in the mid-low 13's with a K2xx Double Cab? Anyone recommended for tuning in the So Cal area or Phoenix area (parents live in Mesa)
Thank you for your time

MIT is the CAI air tube made by Airaid. Research has shown that it's the best for the buck you want an aftermarket CAI.

I would like to know as well. My goal is to get mine in the mid 13s. I have made 2 passes with mine so far and went 14.52 @ 95 with just a tune. Since then I have done the Airaid MIT, 3in catback, and airbox mod. I hope to have TSP longtubes installed soon and will be running on E85 the next trip to the track. Hoping for some high 13s with that setup.

I can get the Volant CAI for about 50 more. Is it not worth it? Just the tube and box mods?
