Do you have headers on your 014 or 015?

I have a gauge for that

By personal attack I mean any type of name-calling or anything other than the topic at hand.
Headers do not make noise by themselves, its just a tube as Noah pointed out. However, different materials and sizes will affect how well the sound is transmitted and later observed by someone in the vehicle. The noise is always there whether you hear it or not.

You must not be paying attention then.
Clearly the headers themselves dont tick. They dont CREATE the sound. But they undoubtedly let more of the valvetrain noise through than the stock manifolds.
The bottom line is they allow more noise (YES, ticks included) than the stock exhaust does.

Low rpm...TC locked...any slight acceleration youll hear them a bit...same on the old sierra...sounds like a small header leak...
I can get the GM engineer to chime in why OEMs use manifolds LOL

Hey vortec350SS.
Remember this? Reason I started this thread. To find out if these new trucks will do this.

Headers do not create the noise, they just do not hide the noise like a factory cast manifold does.
Yes you can hear the high-pressure pump at Idle, and headers will have no effect on the sound from the pump. But just like every other engine, you will hear more valve train noise with a stainless long tube vs a cast manifold.

Agreed...some headers might emit noise more than others but my long tubes tick...

hmm... sounds like an exhaust leak... hmm...
Like I've pointed out repeatedly, as far as this thread goes, and the folks replying, I appear to be the expert here conversing with a bunch of folks with opinions that amount to less than nothing since none of you have '14+ trucks with headers and.... I DO... so...
You're all welcome to come listen to this bad mother sitting in my driveway though and hear what a lack of "header noise" sounds like...
