Default Cut a hole in my hood today

Got bored and installed a heat extractor on my hood today, this is off a 2014 Camaro.

Looks good but will it rain on your engine now?

No water issues I’ve given it the hose test. There’s a drip tray installed underneath, it lets the water fall toward the front radiator cover and then it’s guided to the sides and dumps on each side of the radiator. Still might trim away the insulation in front of the drip tray to provide a clearer path of airflow but being honest this “mod” was more about aesthetics than lowering engine bay temps.

Yeah that’s what I was going for, something unique for the hood that looks like it was put there from the factory. Happy that it’s an OEM GM part too. This is a popular mod for pre 14’ Camaros lacking the heat extractor hood, figured some people on here might consider doing this with their hoods since the factory Sierra hoods are kind of boring IMO. If you google surf you can find some corvette guys putting this on their hoods as well. (Even saw a PT-Cruiser with this in its hood lol)

That’s my 72’ nova pro street build... built small block 400 making around 550whp on motor 750whp on nitrous. Full interior with a/c, modded suspension, tranny, rear end, the whole deal. Built it myself over the course of a few years. If you look closely I think you can spot part of my street bike in there too (I like toys and I like to go fast lol)

That looks great!

Good job on the install and centering it man, looks better than I assumed it would.

Wonder how it would look with two of them, in the raised parts of the hood on each side.. May have to get the wife to photo shop that.
