What coilover and spring did you get

 

According to my paypal invoice:

Viking C217 shocks (Qty 2)
Viking 10" 850lb Springs (Qty 2)

I just gave Atomic the ride height and whatnot, and they took care of the rest. I'm eager to get the springs and shocks and see how it rides!!!!

 

I did too. I also contacted Viking. Just for a second opinion. I have 2 options and I don't know what to do haha. I was told 205 by one and 207 by the other both said 850lb spring thougj

 

It depends on what height you are and what other lowering mods you have (spindle, etc.). This is the general guideline I made that gives you an idea based on what you want, but its just a guide and not necessary the best for your particular situation. The 217 is only about 0.6" longer than the 205 so its not a huge difference, but I would go with whichever one I recommended for you

I'm not saying you're wring. I'm just one to research the hell out of everything

 

There are a few differences with his setup. I would say he should have used a bearing for the eyelets and not the poly as the poly will deform under that much weight. He also used a Tbar mount instead of a typical bearing mount, which is fine on a 2wd, but will not work with a 4wd because of the CV axle. Because of that, he used a slightly longer shock, and because he had a longer shock he used a softer spring. I personally think 600lb is too soft though, I prefer to be in the 700-900 range.

 

So if be ok With the 217 then? I went under the truck and measures and the 205 extended length is a hair under 14. Which I have about 14" of length maybe a little more so when it compresses it might drop more then I want?

My brackets take up some of that distance. You measured 17.5" and have a 2" spindle, so you will need the 205 that will have 78% of compression remaining. This is a little high but means you can adjust down easily if you want it lower. The C217 will be 62% which is about perfect also.

Either one will be 100% fine. You can adjust height via the spring preload.

 

Ok as long as I can lift it half an inch or so and be fine then the 205 it is. I'm getting smaller tires and my front valance already hates me

 

Haha, well, if you are looking to go a little higher 217 it is!
