5.3, 3.42 4wd.
I was in the middle of the deal yesterday when I had to leave and go to work. I reset the trip computer drove across town to work and was showing 18.9.
When I went to do the paperwork today, I reset the trip and got on the interstate. At 75 on flat interstate it got as high as 23.7. Set the cruise at 80 the rest oc the trip, cut through a little bit of town, a neighborhood and it was at 20.0 pulling in the dealership.
I know this isn't any real indication but I've only had it for about 100 miles. There is no comparison between this and my 08. Even with my 08 being tumed and having long tubes and 4.10 gears this one is all around better. The only thing I don't like is the notorious throttle delay though it isn't nearly as bad as the 08. I've been out of the scene so long I javent updated my hptuners so I wasn't able to pull the stock tune, but plan to do that today. Thatll give me something to keep me occupied at work tonight maybe. I hear they have flash counters so I don't want to get too crazy with the tune. I just want dbc responsiveness. It is however pretty strong. Turning off traction control and flat footing it from a stop spins through first, but I believe it pulls timing during the shift

Damn nice, congratulations! I'd like to hear more about it: trim level, options, etc. I've got the bug (damn you gonzo) and have started looking.

That had lot to do with me getting it.

Its nothing special its a LT Z71 (its not just a package now, stupid if you ask me, but they didnt) Came with the allstar package, and dealer installed tube steps which were about to come off till my wife said she liked them and knew I was going to lift it, so I guess Ill be keeping them, and buying my lift soon.

Im liking it so far. When I bought my 08, it was the best riding truck I had ever been in. This one is far better.

When I first started looking, I was going to get a 13 and take advantage of all the rebates. I looked at a 14, then drove one, and I was sold.
Some places are already giving $6000 off from the get go

Thanks for the info. I know what you mean about the tube steps, I did a leveling kit 2.25" front and 1" rear, which raised the truck enough that my five-foot-nothin' wife said "Get steps." Yes dear.
