Default "Anti Theft" at key on... Wth?

So last night and again today, I get in my truck an hit the key and it just clicks ( like a dead battery would) and the dash displays "anti theft......." Finally after hitting the key several times it'll fire.

Anyone else had this happen, or know wtf it's all about?

My future son in law's truck will alarm during the middle of the night, no matter how you lock it up, so he doesn't lock his doors at all at night. Weird and GM can't figure it out...

Check for a loose battery cable, or a loose connection at the starter.

The anti-theft kills the fuel system, not your starter.

See if it does it with your other key. These new keys are chipped and programmed to the truck so it could be an issue with the key.

The little white tag that was on there at the dealership ( I'm guessing they use them to ID what key goes to what vehicle ) is still there. It's been there for 8000 miles though and this just started happening. I'll yank it off there and see if that changes anything. Thanks for the input, PT.NET always is a big help.

Sometimes the batteries get weak sitting on the dealer lot waiting for a buyer. Might have your dealer test the battery and replace it if necessary.
