that just confirms what I said

notice that the 3.73 axle ratio is not available with 6.2?

well it was in 2014 with the max tow. Why, because you cannot get 3.73 with the 8speed trans. 3.73 is only available with the 6speed.

i promise you, there is no such thing as a 2015 6.2 6speed.

what do 3.73s have to do with getting a 6.2 with the 6 speed in 15?

I'll go back to my original question of whether or not GM has fixed the problems with the 8 speeds?

No issues with the weird down shifting or the flaring of the convertor or cold start putting into gears? If you don't mind me asking. How many miles do you have? Thanks.

because max tow with 6 speed is 3.73
max tow with 8 speed is 3.42

The reason you can’t get a 3.73 gear in a 2015 6.2 is because they never had a 6 speed trans option.

Through the entire k2 generation the 6.2 only had one transmission option. In 2014 you could only get the 6speed. In 2015 and above you could only get the 8speed.

I’ve paid attention to this over the years because I have the 6.2 6 speed and there is only one year you could get it.

No, it works just fine. I can make it be weird if I am going up a driveway at a slow speed and give it gas right when it tries to downshift back to 1st, but I have to try and do that on purpose. 99.9% of people would never notice. I wish it was more aggressive at higher speeds with downshifting, but not enough for me to send me TCM off so I can tune it. Roughly 8500 miles.

I don't have a definitive answer but it seems to be that the complaints are all about shift quality and that the fix is tuning them.

I've seen several complaints here but nobody has said that theirs failed, that i've seen...

Yeah, same here on my 17. I agree with atomic. It can get weird but you pretty much expect it when it’s going to and you have to be doing something to deserve it lol. Once in a great while I get a weird low speed clunk shift but it’s random. And yes, the shift strategy could be more aggressive. But it’s not horrible. Got just over 26k on ours and I beat it like a rented mule fairly regularly
