pay 25 for a custom cam specs.. you wont lose anthing if you get an expert opinon

Might be worth paying Patrick Guerro for his recommendation.

FWIW, and I'm NO camshaft expert, I have read many times where the LS3/L92/L76 etc. engines do NOT respond well to large intake / exhaust duration "splits". Keep the split under 5 or 6 degrees.

Check out this Ragin Racin "Stinger" CAM, good gains everywhere in the powerband, peak Tq rpm is close to stock so it should work great with the stock converter and intake manifold. I would expect a little more bottom end power on the dyno going through a truck engine or truck style intake manifold Ragin Racin LS3 Stinger Cam Dyno - Corvette Forum

Never seen Patrick or Geoff recommend less than 10-12 degree split on L92 (rectangle)port heads.

Really???

Pat explains his rectangular port LS engine I/E duration split theory pretty well in post #2 on this thread, in the LS1Tech forums next door . . .

Lets find the TR224 version of a VVT cam - LS1TECH

Maybe he changed his mind?- by July he recommended a 218/230 for my 09.
I think he recommended something very similar for Atomic.

4-8* is what Geoff/Pat G have spec'd for every L92 style head i have seen. my cam through pat g was spec'd at 4*, i know of another 6.2 running a 4* split and it is doing great. the way Pat G and Geoff both explained to me almost word for word without either one of them knowing what was said was damn near close to each others advice. the bigger split is seen on the cars that stay 6000+ rpm through their entire pass or thats basically what the car is designed to do. if it is a DD and an all out race truck on the side the max i think they will spec is a 8* split. Geoff spec'd me the 222/230 which doesnt have the MPH i want but it does however have the E.T everyone is looking for without killing the motor to get there. SkoalBandit and Hammer run the 112 series of this cam and Truckshops' truck is the 111 series of that 222/230 cam. Skoalbandit has a 3000 stall, 3:73s and it clicks a 13.6-13.7 on street tires every pass at 102.5-103.5 depending the IATs. Hammer's truck is stock stall, 4:10s and a 4wd on 35s and it pulls its *** off from a 35+ run. no they both have 4 speeds, but i think the 222/230 cam will pull just as hard with a 6spd without having to have a converter


i think a 218/226 would be nice or even a 220/228.
