Default what size headers?

i'm ordering long tubes this weekend and need to know what size i should get. 1 5/8" or 1 3/4" mods in sig. will also be installing a cam soon. this is a daily driver so the cam won't be HUGE but decent.

On a 5.3L I like 1 5/8 w/mild bolt on's or 1 3/4 w/CAM or Blower

Skipperdaddy and iamkeniff suggested 1 3/4" with the cam. that's the route i probably will go but just wanted some other opinions. i was curious to know if the gain i get on the big end with the bigger headers were enough to accomodate for the loss on the bottom end.

I've heard the same thing. But I can't hardly find any 1 5/8 headers on ebay.

If it was a mild CAM I would stay 1 5/8'' if ur gonna rev that 5.3 to the moon with a big CAM and a stall to cure the bottom end loss then i'd go with 1 3/4's...Velocity aka smaller pipes and heavy rides get along well especially w/stock Tq converter...

1 3/4" is the norm around here man, if you wanna see a real gain in power..
the 5/8" are going to be like the OBX headers on ebay...
they're nice but they have a 2.5" collector.. which is fine if your going to run 2.5" true duals..
if you want to run a 3" single pipe i'd look into a set of pacesetters of LPP headers..
